Ceres Policy Research analyzes survey
and administrative data using a statistical analysis
software package called SPSS. We typically use three different tests. When we are interested in determining whether a group changed over time, we use a t-test. When we are interested in determining whether two groups are different from one another, we use an analysis of variance test. When multiple variables appear to have shaped a particular outcome, we use a regression analysis to determine which of the variables are most responsible for shaping the outcome. Findings from these tests are considered "statistically significant" if we are more than 95% sure that change occurred over time or that the groups are different or that particular variables shaped an outcome. We report only statistically significant results. |
